FastMail is constantly pushing the frontier of what can be done with web technology.

Our interface ain't just a bunch of jQuery; it's a highly sophisticated application based on our own Overture JS library, that's competitive in both speed and features with native applications. We take pride in the UX we offer, and really care about the details. We love to add little enhancements that users will probably only ever notice subconsciously, but make the experience that little bit better.

We're looking for someone to join us in tackling the hard, interesting problems in front-end programming. Problems like rock-solid data synchronisation, full offline capability and smooth, fluid, delightful UI.

You will be involved in both design work and front-end engineering. You will quickly take ownership of core parts of the FastMail interface, and rapidly see your work used by hundreds of thousands of people (and growing fast!). You're happy to evaluate existing solutions, but not afraid of building your own to get the best possible result. You like working with a team of other motivated, highly intelligent engineers, because you get so much awesome work done. You probably have a suitable disdain for bureaucracy.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Mastery of JavaScript & CSS, or proof that you really understand core programming principles and can learn fast
• A desire to work at the cutting-edge of web tech
• Strong understanding of usability and visual design
• High attention to detail and pride in your work
• Great communications skills and the ability to work well with others
• Ability to work and problem solve on your own with minimal guidance and supervision
• Good analytical, mathematical, and research skills
• A wide degree of creativity
