Fastmail is looking for a marketing intern to help us attract new customers. You’ll communicate our product’s benefits and our company’s privacy-driven values by writing copy for ads, social media, and our website.

About the job

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is an excellent conversational and persuasive writer and who loves clarity in communications and writing with purpose.

Under the leadership of our Growth Marketing Lead, you’ll work closely with our marketing team. You’ll participate in weekly marketing team meetings to get informed and share ideas.

Your job will be:

• Focused on external communication through social media and other web-based marketing platforms
• Essential to growing our customer base — beyond copy-writing, you’ll manage our referral program, and provide valuable administrative support to our marketing team
• Part-time and 8 hours/week, which can be done during one full business day/week or two half days/week or nights and weekends if you have school or another job.
• Based out of our sunny offices in Center City Philadelphia with work-from-home flexibility
• During US Eastern time-zone hours
• Paid at $15/hr and capped at 8 total hours weekly
• Mid-May through mid-August, with the potential for continued part-time or even full-time work

About you

You’re an ambitious college student or career changer, who is knowledgeable about digital marketing, copy-writing, social media, and advertising. Beyond good grammar, you are able to attract people with your engaging writing.

You'll be successful if you are passionate about learning and results-oriented. It would be a great bonus if you are excited about some aspect of our business be it technology, email, digital privacy, or working on human-centric products.

An ideal candidate is:

• Effective at writing marketing copy that’s creative, thoughtful, and gets results
• Adaptable to changes in the news, projects, and ad targeting
• Curious about our larger business goals and asks great questions
• Willing to take initiative and solve-problems — resourceful in gathering background information to aid your copy-writing
• Able to prioritize tasks
• A great team player
• Available for part-time work and can use your own computer
