If you have a preference for how you receive a notification when a calendar event will start, you can set it in one of two ways:
- Set it on the event itself
- Set a global default, so that this style of notification will be configured for every event.
Set default event reminders
If you know that you want to be reminded of most events in the same way each time, you can set a global default in the Settings → Calendar Preferences screen.
From here you can select your notification options based on whether the event is timed, or goes all day.
Reminders can arrive via email, or shown on your browser providing you have FastMail open in a tab at the time.
Set reminders per event
When creating a new event in a calendar, the default event reminder is automatically configured, but you can override it as required.
