Password errors on mobile devices

To access your Fastmail data from a mobile device, you must set up an app password for the app/program on your device. Basic plans do not support IMAP access, so you will not be able to create and use an app password if you are on a Basic plan.

This is because two-step verification isn't available for third party apps and programs, and you can't use your normal login password.

We do this to keep your account secure: the password you use in an external application can't be used to gain access to the web interface.
